Synopsis: Kutsher's Hotel and Country Club was the last surviving Jewish resort in the Catskills. One of the legendary Borscht Belt hotels during its heyday, Kutsher's was family-owned and operated for over 100 years. Kutsher s explores the full Catskills experience from the creation of the resorts as unique vacation destination for Jews excluded from gentile Country Clubs through the Dirty Dancing-era. This award-winning documentary captures a last glimpse at a phenomenon integral not only to Jewish American social history, but to our greater cultural consciousness as well through their influence on American stand-up comedy, sports achievement of people of color and the birth of the NBA All-Star Game, and a culture of all-inclusive leisure activity
